Excuses Begone!: How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits

Author: Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Pages: 366 Pages
Format: Hardcover, Paperback, Kindle, Audio CD
Price: $19.79, $12.14, $9.99, $31.59

Book name: Excuses Begone!: How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits

Within the pages of this transformational book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer reveals how to change the self-defeating thinking patterns that have prevented you from living at the highest levels of success, happiness, and health. Even though you may know what to think, actually changing those thinking habits that have been with you since childhood might be somewhat challenging.

Ideas like:

I’m too old or too young to change
I’m far too busy and tired
It would be very difficult for me to do things differently
and I’ve always been this way

These may all seem to be true, but they’re in fact just excuses. So the business of modifying habituated thinking patterns really comes down to tossing out the same tired old excuses and examining your beliefs in a new and truthful light.

You’ll ultimately realize that there are no excuses worth defending, ever, even if they’ve always been part of your life—and the joy of releasing them will resonate throughout your very being. When you eliminate the need to explain your shortcomings or failures, you’ll awaken to the life of your dreams. Excuses . . . Begone!

Dr Dyers Early Years

Dr Dyer was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and was interested in self-development at an early age.

Despite a childhood spent in orphanages and foster homes, he overcame many obstacles to make his dreams come true and spent much of his life showing others how to do the same.

He did early work in college-level teaching and clinical psychology, and discovered a widespread need for the principles of self-discovery and personal growth, and sought to bring these ideas to a wider audience.

After publishing a string of best-selling books on the practical psychology of self-improvement, Dyer felt a shift occur in his thinking that led him to explore the spiritual aspects of human experience.

“My purpose is to help people look at themselves and begin to shift their concepts,” he said. “Remember, we are not our country, our race, or religion. We are eternal spirits. Seeing ourselves as spiritual beings without label is a way to transform the world and reach a sacred place for all of humanity.”

Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao

Author: Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Pages: 416 Pages
Format: Hardcover, Paperback, Kindle, Audio CD
Price: $14.00, $11.52, $9.99, $31.08
Website: Amazon
Book name:  Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao

Five hundred years before the birth of Jesus, a God-realized being named Lao-tzu in ancient China dictated 81 verses, which are regarded by many as the ultimate commentary on the nature of our existence. The classic text of these 81 verses, called the Tao Te Ching or the Great Way, offers advice and guidance that is balanced, moral, spiritual, and always concerned with working for the good.

In this book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has written 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao-tzu to today’s modern world. This work contains the entire 81 verses of the Tao, compiled from Wayne’s researching of 10 of the most well-respected translations of text that have survived for more than 25 centuries.

Each chapter is designed for actually living the Tao or the Great Way today.

Some of the chapter titles are “Living with Flexibility,” “Living Without Enemies,” and “Living by Letting Go.” Each of the 81 brief chapters focuses on living the Tao and concludes with a section called “Doing the Tao Now.”

Wayne spent one entire year reading, researching, and meditating on Lao-tzu’s messages, practicing them each day and ultimately writing down these essays as he felt Lao-tzu wanted you to know them.

This is a work to be read slowly, one essay a day. As Wayne says, “This is a book that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that you’ll live in a new world aligned with nature. Writing this book changed me forever, too. I now live in accord with the natural world and feel the greatest sense of peace I’ve ever experienced. I’m so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me.”

Dr Dyers Teacher Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Dr Wayne Dyer had a famous spiritual teacher from India named Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj was an Indian spiritual teacher and philosopher of Advaita (Nondualism), and a Guru, belonging to the Navnath Sampradaya. Sri Nisargadatta, with his direct and minimalistic explanation of non-dualism, is considered the most famous teacher of Advaita since Ramana Maharshi. In 1973, the publication of his most famous and widely-translated book, “I AM THAT”, an English translation of his talks in Marathi by Maurice Frydman, brought him worldwide recognition and followers.

According to Sri Nisargadatta, the purpose of spirituality is to know who you are. His discussions are not for academic scholars. He is a rebellious spirit, abrupt in his style of discussion, provocative, and immensely profound, cutting to the core and wasting little effort on inessentials. His terse but potent sayings are known for their ability to trigger radical shifts from philosophical mind-games to the purity of consciousness, just by hearing or even reading them.

Maharaj gave Satsang sessions in Bombay, India and allowed all people to come and sit with Him to meditate and ask questions. There are a number of famous people who have seen and write about Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Living An Inspired Life – Your Ultimate Calling

Author: Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Pages: 272 Pages
Format: Paperback, Kindle
Price: $9.13, $9.99
Website: Amazon
Book name:  Living an Inspired Life: Your Ultimate Calling

“What I’m offering in this book is the awareness that we can return to a full-time position of inspiration, which is the true meaning of our life.”
— Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

There’s a voice in the Universe entreating us to remember our purpose, our reason for being here now in this world of impermanence. The voice whispers, shouts, and sings to us that this experience—of being in form in space and time—has meaning. That voice belongs to inspiration, which is within each and every one of us.

The feelings of emptiness; the idea that there must be something more; wondering, Is this all there is?; and trying to determine the meaning of life .. . this is all evidence of a yearning to reconnect with our soul space. We’re aching for our calling to be felt and expressed.

Inspiration can be cultivated and be a driving force throughout life, rather than showing up every now and then and just as mysteriously disappearing, seemingly independent of our desires. Inspiration is for everyone! It isn’t reserved for high-profile creative geniuses in the arts and sciences—it’s inherent in our Divine birthright. The problem is that as children we’re gradually taught to believe exclusively in the world of phenomena where ego is dominant and inspiration diminished.

As you read each chapter in this book, you’ll find specific suggestions for living “in-Spirit.” From a very personal viewpoint, Dr. Dyer offers a blueprint through the world of inspiration—your ultimate calling.

In Living an Inspired Life (previously published under the title Inspiration), Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains how we’ve chosen to enter this world of particles and form. From our place of origin, in ways that we don’t readily comprehend now, we knew what we were coming here to accomplish, and we participated in setting this life process in motion. So why not think along these same lines?

Why put the responsibility or blame on any one or any thing that’s not a part of us? On Earth we have the capacity of volition—we can choose—so let’s assume that we had the same capacity when we resided in the spiritual realm. We chose our physical body, and we chose the parents we needed for the trip. It doesn’t seem too great a stretch to move into the idea that we chose this life in concert with our Source.

Dr Dyers Message

Dr Dyers first book for general readers, Your Erroneous Zones, published in 1976, became an international bestseller and launched his career as an author and speaker.

Many of his books and audio books were all featured as National Public Television specials. In total, Wayne had 10 PBS specials raising over $250 million dollars for public television.

His main message was that every person has the potential to live an extraordinary life. What’s more, it’s possible for every person to manifest their deepest desires — if they honor their inner divinity and consciously choose to live from their “Highest Self.”

His Final Years

When not traveling the globe delivering his uplifting words, Dyer wrote from his home in Maui — enjoying the beauty of nature, his swims with the sea creatures, and happy visits from his children and grandchildren.

On August 30th, 2015, Dr. Wayne Dyer passed away from a heart attack, said his publicist, Lindsay McGinty on Maui, Hawaii at age 75. He had been diagnosed with leukemia in 2009.

He has now returned to the Infinite Source to embark on his next adventure.
